Dr Fiona Tilley

Fiona Tilley joined the School of the Environment in August 2002. Prior to this appointment Fiona worked at the Manchester Metropolitan Business School (2000-2002) developing teaching and research in sustainable business related subject areas and at the Business School at Durham University (1997-2000) contributing to research on issues relating to sustainability, foresighting and small firms. Her PhD completed in 1998 at Leeds Metropolitan University was an investigation of the gap between environmental attitudes and behaviours in small firms. Since this time Fiona’s research interests have been divided between general small firms research and corporate environmental management. This is reflected in publications in journals, books and conferences, including a recently published co-edited book with Oswald Jones entitled ‘Competitive Advantage in SMEs: Organising for Innovation and Change’. She is a member of the editorial board for the journal Business Strategy and the Environment. Fiona’s new responsibilities at the School of the Environment include programme co-ordinator of the BA in Environment and Business, teaching modules at postgraduate and undergraduate levels in a range of business and environment subjects, such as, environmental auditing, environmental decision-making and the environment, business and sustainable development.
